Men's thin wallet
A long time ago, I read online a friend who shared something that I can't remember, that among her boyfriends, the one who used a fancy wallet was definitely the one with the least money.
Perhaps it was because his expensive leather wallet couldn't hold much money. When going out to eat with a group, if he had to pay, he would be very cautious. The guy who didn't use a leather wallet was the most generous, always taking out money to pay for the whole group very innocently. And of course, he had the most money in the group, so much that no leather wallet could hold it all.
I didn't see him mention the denomination of the bills. However, imagining the way he dealt with the money was already funny. As if he could see the owner's demeanor in it. Although he tried to avoid the elementary mistake of judging people with money, it was clear that the story was not only about money, but also about men in the eyes of women. And money was just a reflection of the man standing there.
Once I was walking down the street with a friend. We found a white shirt for him at a street stall, I thought it would fit him well and look good. The price was very reasonable because it was a retail stall on a tourist street. Surprisingly, my friend did not try it on nor buy it. He took me to a big fashion store fifty meters away and bought the exact same shirt, at a price about three hundred NT dollars more expensive, which is about two hundred thousand VND more expensive. I was very surprised.
I asked him why he was so weird. Wasn't it the same brand, the same shirt? Did this store guarantee his shirt? Or did men only feel confident when they went to a fancy store, and if I bought it on the sidewalk of a night market, it would make him lose his dignity?
My friend calmly said:
- If everyone is like me, will all the big stores go out of business?
If we live, we must let others live too!
I suddenly remembered that my friend is also a business owner, and he is also facing fierce competition in business. Maybe, because I am a woman, in my eyes there is only the face value of the money. But in the eyes of that man, money is just a message!
No wonder, the victims of group buying, group buying, and collective shopping are all... women! Being lured by cheap prices, they are willing to spend money on something that is not in their spending plan. And in terms of family financial management, these are the money that is overspent, putting the family budget in immediate danger.
It turns out that sometimes, the money that women think is "cheap" is not as good as the money that men think is "expensive"!
I think by looking at how a man makes and spends money, we can judge his ability and cultural level. A man makes money with ability, and spends money with culture. It would be tragic if a man could boast: “I make money with culture, and I spend money with… ability!” Oh my god!
So, I don't care how men spend money, whether they buy a supercar or ask their girlfriend to pay for half of their coffee! But, whether a man has a thick or thin wallet is probably not as important as the fact that he doesn't let his spending become a source of gossip and controversy among the crowd!
Like they say, your wallet is cool! But thin!
